Covington County Hospital Welcomes Marlecia Grant, PT

We are thrilled to announce the hiring of our new, full-time Physical Therapist, Marlecia Jakia Grant, PT at our strategic partner facility, Covington County Hospital.

Marlecia has an impressive, well-rounded background in her field, beginning with a solid educational foundation. She graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Exercise Science and was awarded her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The University of Mississippi Medical Center. In addition, she is LSVT Big certified and a Community Health Advocate. She has a special interest in pediatrics and manual therapy. Marlecia is excited to work with clients and experience a variety of clinical settings at Covington.

Marlecia grew up in Meridian, MS, and has three older brothers and a younger sister and brother. She knew from an early age she wanted to work in healthcare. While in High School, she had an opportunity to take a two-year health science vocational class and observed different positions, including a Physical Therapist at a local hospital. This was the point when she decided to focus her academic career on the requirements of becoming a PT. She is a first-generation college graduate. She wanted to set a good example for her younger siblings by showing them with hard work there is no limit to what you can do in life.

When Marlecia is not helping patients recover, she enjoys traveling, doing DIY projects, attending sporting events & festivals, and watching movies.

Mid South values continuing education and the promotion of exceptional leaders. We are excited to have Marlecia as a partner in our company, and we look forward to many opportunities for her to further her education and specialize with certification and training. We look forward to her progress, and we know that she will have opportunities to improve our company, our partner facility, and most importantly, our patients in her new role.
