Jefferson Davis County now houses TWO winners of Mid South Rehab Services’ “Facility of Excellence” awards. Jefferson Davis Community Hospital and Jefferson Davis Extended Care Facility won for hospital and nursing home settings, respectively. The designation is awarded annually to exemplary therapy teams who demonstrated the highest level of excellence in all areas of clinical operations, compliance, and finance, including but not limited to employee servitude, patient satisfaction, patient outcomes, billing, documentation, and stewardship. Standardized and objective data is used to measure performance and determine the “Facility of Excellence” in 3 facility types – Nursing Home, Outpatient / Assisted Living and Hospital.
Dorothy Gray is a lifelong native of Jeff Davis County. She has worked as an office manager and rehab tech for 13 years. She has 6 grandchildren and twins, grand boys, on the way. She enjoys reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Carla Magee is a lifelong resident of Prentiss. She has been a Speech Language Pathologist for 28 years. She is certified in LSVT Loud and Vital Stim. Carla is married and has 1 son. Carla enjoys reading, watching cooking shows, watching her son play football, and spending time with her family.
Shannon Smith is a lifelong native of Jefferson Davis County. She has been an Occupational Therapy Assistant for 14 years, 11 of those at Jefferson Davis Extended Care Facility, where she serves as Director of Rehabilitation. Shannon enjoys reading and spending time with her two daughters, Brantlea and Sadie.
Keely Fortenberry is a native of Tylertown. She has been an Occupational Therapist for 4 years. She has served as Director of Rehab since 2019 for Jefferson Davis Community Hospital and 1 year for Walthall General Hospital. Keely is certified in LSVT Loud, which is a program that serves those with Parkinson’s Disease. She is recently engaged and will marry May, 2023. Keely enjoys sewing, biking, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Taneshia Quinn is a native of Hattiesburg. She has been a Physical Therapist for 10 years. She is
certified in dry needling, LSVT Big, and manual therapies. She is married with 2 daughters. She
enjoys spending time with her family and being
outside enjoying nature.
Karen Ivey is a native of Laurel. She has been a Physical Therapy Assistant for 26 years. She has provided therapy services at all three Jefferson Davis facilities for 7 years. Karen enjoys quilting and spending time with her 3 grandchildren.
