We are happy to announce the hiring of our new, full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, COTA. He serves at Mississippi State Hospital. Maurice has worked for Mid South as a PRN at the VA home in Kosciusko, and we are glad to have him transition to full-time at the hospital.
Maurice received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and his Associate in Occupational Therapy Assistant Technology from Itawamba Community College.
Maurice is from Plantersville, MS, outside of Tupelo. He and his wife Whitney have been married for three years. He got interested in working in therapy while being a transporter at North Mississippi Medical Center. He went to pick up a patient for an MRI, and the patient was receiving occupational therapy. Seeing the rehabilitation caught his interest. Maurice and Whitney are members of New Vision Fellowship Church. He enjoys cooking, sports, movies, and dabbling in gardening.
We are excited to welcome Maurice to our team at Mississippi State Hospital. We are confident that he will make significant contributions to our organization while positively impacting the lives of our patients in his new position.
